The Cooking Bus Comes To Todmorden
Todmorden residents will receive free healthy eating lessons and demonstrations from the Cooking Bus next week. The Cooking Bus, organised by Focus on Food at Dean Clough, will be at Todmorden High School from Tuesday 19th – Thursday 21st January.
Food teachers aboard the Cooking Bus will teach pupils, staff and members of the local community practical cooking skills. Sessions will cover key aspects of food education from preparation skills to nutrition, food safety and hygiene – but above all attendees will be taught how to cook nutritious, healthy food.
The School has enlisted the help of the Cooking Bus to help put a stop to the rise in diet-related health problems.
The Focus on Food Cooking Bus programme has a proven reputation for delivering food education and teacher training at primary and secondary level as well as in the wider community and among health professionals.
Paul Murray, Food4Life Co-ordinator says:
“This is an opportunity for people to learn first hand how to prepare, cook and enjoy healthy food. We want everyone to gain the confidence and skills to be able to be able to make healthy meals at home.”
