Police Drugs Raids In Hebden Bridge & Todmorden
Two police raids in the Hebden Bridge and Todmorden areas have seen dozens of suspected cannabis plants seized, and the arrest of three men. Following information discovered by police, a team of officers searched a house in the Callis Wood area of Hebden Bridge on Monday 27th October, resulting in the seizure of scores of plants which have now been sent for analysis by forensic experts.
In a similar raid the previous week in Todmorden, officers raided a house on Rochdale Road, and discovered in excess of 50 suspected cannabis plants, and approximately 200 tablets which are suspected to be ecstacy. A 29 year old man was arrested by police and then released on bail.
Speaking about the incidents in The Hebden Bridge Times, Chris Norbury of West Yorkshire Police said:“We need the public to continue passing us information about suspected illegal drug activity”. Adding that: “We ask people to keep an eye out for anything suspicious in their local area and we will act on information that is passed to us. Where we suspect the illegal cultivation and supply of cannabis is taking place we will take positive action to disrupt it.”
Police are encouraging anyone with information about suspected drug activity in their area to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
