New Exhibition Space For Local Artists In Todmorden
The Bear Café will soon be opening once a month on a Thursday evening, to introduce an exhibition of work from a local artist. Located on the first floor of the original Grade II listed co-operative building in Todmorden. The Bear Café is renowned for the high quality of it’s food, and is also the spiritual home of the Incredible Edible Todmorden project, which aims to make Todmorden self-sufficient in vegetables by 2018.
This month’s exhibition features the work of Chris Cullen, with several of his oil on canvas paintings of “Women in Hats” on show. Future exhibitions will include work from Emma Wilkinson and Rae Parkinson amongst others, and expressions of interest are being sought from other local artists who wish to show off their artwork at The Bear Café.
On the evening of each exhibition opening, the Café will be serving tapas dishes, Asian and Mediterranean platters, and each guest will also receive a complimentary glass of wine on arrival.
