Fresh New Look For Tod Library
Todmorden Library will reopen tomorrow Tuesday 20 April with a fresh new look. The library was moved temporarily into the Town Hall in March while essential repairs and redecoration were carried out. The work included structural repairs, electrical work, upgrading of lighting, redecoration and cleaning.
There will be a return and renewal only library service at the Town Hall from 9.30am until 4.30pm on Monday 19 April (no books will be available to borrow as they are being moved). The library will then reopen as normal from 9.30pm to 5pm on Tuesday.
To celebrate and thank our customers and staff for their patience and support during these necessary works there will be a free storytime and refreshments on Saturday 24 April. Storytimes run from 11am to 11.30am, and 1pm to 1.30pm and refreshments will be available from 11.30am to 2pm.
Gary Borrows, Calderdale Council’s Head of Cultural Services, said:
“I would like to thank Todmorden Library users for their patience during the temporary relocation of the library. Much of the repair work to the building is hidden in the structure but I hope users will be pleased with the redecorations we have carried out. The recent national review of public libraries emphasizes the importance of investing in our library services. Improving the quality and appeal of library buildings is one way in which we are responding to that call.”
