Ninety-five per cent of households in Calderdale are using the Council’s new recycling service. Calderdale councillors will discuss a report next Wednesday (June 3), updating them on changes in the household waste collection service.

It costs £53million pounds a year to treat illnesses related to obesity and overweight in Calderdale. And that figure is set to rise to £59 million by 2015. The shocking figures are contained in a report discussed by councillors last week.
Award Success For Incredible Edible Todmorden
A community project which is helping people grow their own fruit and veg is celebrating today after winning a Yorkshire Post Environment Award. Incredible Edible Todmorden was presented with the Community Award by Climate Change minister Ed Miliband and BBC1 Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury at a prestigious ceremony in Leeds last night. The Community Award was sponsored by Yorkshire Water.
