CMBC Recognises Importance Of Todmorden Rail Links
CMBC’s Liberal Democrat councillors have today echoed the importance of the Caldervale rail line through the borough and the need for investment in it, and have highlighted the importance of getting the basics right in improving the quality of the service.
New High Point For May Day Bank Holiday
Calderdale MBC is set to add a high point to the Bank Holiday weekend when it opens Wainhouse Tower to the public. The 253 foot-high tower is one of Calderdale’s most recognisable landmarks and has undergone an extensive programme of repairs. It will be open for the public on at least seven days this year, starting on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May.
Funding Sought To Rebuild Todmorden High School
A delegation from Calderdale is to meet a Government Minister in a bid to secure funding for the rebuilding of two of the borough’s high schools. Councillors say that the rebuilding of Todmorden High School and Calder Valley High School is vital to the local economy.

Members of the Calderdale MBC’s Regeneration and Development Scrutiny Panel will consider the future programme of improvements for markets in Calderdale when they meet on Wednesday 22 April.

New Exhibition Space For Local Artists In Todmorden
The Bear Café will soon be opening once a month on a Thursday evening, to introduce an exhibition of work from a local artist. Located on the first floor of the original Grade II listed co-operative building in Todmorden. The Bear Café is renowned for the high quality of it’s food, and is also the spiritual home of the Incredible Edible Todmorden project, which aims to make Todmorden self-sufficient in vegetables by 2018.
