Charity Valentine’s Speed-Dating At The Olive Branch

www.secondchancecupid.com is a local dating site with a twist, and has now branched out into speed-dating event hosting- just in time for Valentine’s Day! Allowing for administrative costs, money raised through ticket sales will go directly to the Gaza appeal. Our first event will take place at the Olive Branch restaurant, Hebden, on Monday 9th February at 8.00pm.

New Opportunities For Young People In Todmorden

£500,000 is being made available in Calderdale to help improve the life chances of 16 and 17 year-olds in the borough. The money will go towards helping to reduce the number of children and young people not in employment, education or training (NEET).

Gun Found During Todmorden Drugs Raid

A recent police drug bust at a house in Todmorden discovered large quantities of illegal drugs including heroin, cocaine and marijuana. Over £20,000 in cash was also seized during the raid, along with a replica handgun.

Calderdale Residents Asked To Keep Their Distance

On average 145 adults and children are injured on Calderdale’s roads every year because someone failed to stop their vehicle in time, colliding with the vehicle in front. Calderdale Council is now spearheading a road side advertising campaign to encourage drivers to ‘Think’ about the distance they leave between themselves and the vehicle in front.
